Bishop Hawkins’
life-changing truths of God’s Word is leading thousands to salvation
through his dynamic teaching, seminars, writings, videos, audio and
television ministries.
In its present
location in Stone Mountain for only 8 years, God has multiplied
Voices of Faith from 75 to more than 11,000 members, making it one of
the fastest-growing churches in the Georgia Baptist Convention.
In 2002, Bishop
Hawkins was recognized for his leadership skills by world-renowned
leader Bishop Eddie L. Long, Senior Pastor of New Birth Missionary
Baptist Church, metro-Atlanta’s largest congregation. In May 2002,
Bishop Long appointed Bishop Hawkins as one of his 22 “Flying
Eagles” from the Father’s House, a mentoring program he launched to
develop growing ministries across the country. In November 2002,
Bishop Hawkins launched the “Faith to Faith Pastors and Leadership
Conference” referred to today as the “Marketing Your Church for
Growth Conference” to teach pastors and their leaders how to
strategically grow a great church for the kingdom. In 2003 he was
named “Man of the Year” by the Ross News Group. On May 5, 2004
Bishop Hawkins was awarded the keys to the city of Baker in
Louisiana. In the June 2005 edition of the Church Report Magazine,
Bishop Hawkins was named as one of the leaders to watch in 2005. He
is a member of the DeKalb Chapter 100 Black Men of America and
author of seven top selling life changing books: Marketing Your
Church for Growth, Fighting for Your Destiny, Marketing for Next
Level Ministry, Eight Steps to Prosperity, God’s Best For Your Life,
What Every Pastor Should Know and The Faith Journal. In 2005
God elevated him to the office of Bishop and on November 9, 2005 he
was consecrated by Bishop Eddie L. Long. In addition to the
guidance of the Holy Spirit, his spiritual father in the ministry is
Bishop I. V. Hilliard of New Light Christian Center Church in
Houston, TX.
Bishop Hawkins
received his license to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in April
1992 from Hopewell Baptist Church in Norcross, Georgia under the
leadership of Dr. William L. Sheals. Bishop Hawkins founded
Voices of Faith on August 21, 1994.
He holds a Master’s of Arts in Ministry degree
from Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, Georgia, a Master’s degree in
financial management from National University in San Diego,
California, and a Bachelor of Science degree in business management
from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Before entering the ministry full time, Bishop
Hawkins worked as a financial analyst for several Fortune 500
companies including General Dynamics, Scientific-Atlanta, Lockheed
Martin, Delta Airlines and Delta Technology.
He is the seventh of
10 children, seven boys and three girls, born to Aaron Hawkins, Sr.
and Mary Louise Robertson. Both of his parents reside in Louisiana.
